Writer Tweeps to Follow: April Platform Challenge Edition

Lara Schiffbauer made the comment on Day 4 of the April Platform Challenge that she'd try to follow anyone who included their Twitter handles in the comments yesterday, which I think is a great idea--and a wonderful way to maximize your social networking. After all, you shouldn't just be looking to follow people on a pedestal. Instead, make connections with people who are going through the learning process with you as well, and then, help each other as you're able.

Lara Schiffbauer inspired today's
post. Follow her @LASbauer

(Note: If you're searching for Day 5's task,  click here.)

Anyway, here's the list of Twitter handles I've collected so far. If I've missed anyone who's participating in the challenge, just let me know in the comments below.
Right now is a great time to start connecting with fellow April Platform Challenge participants. Use the Twitter hashtag #MNINB to Tweet your progress and/or share blog posts on Twitter.

Oh yeah, and be sure to follow me (if you aren't already) @robertleebrewer.

To Lara and Robert -
Since we are on Twitter and many/most of us may follow each other (or some may not), what about creating a hashtag: #MNINB ?
Therefore, if we want to reach anyone who is related to this challenge (or future challenges?) we can use the hastag. And for people who use Tweetdeck, it will be easy for them to follow #MNINB.

Teaching participants in the April Challenge to use Tweetdeck would be an extremely helpful extension for those new to Twitter and Tweetdeck (unless Robert, you plan to introduce this option to us later this month).

These are just suggestions. - Monique Liddle

Robert, I got my Twitter handle in late because of not being here to do it. How's that for honesty?

Agreed that only following idols won't amount to much-- that's especially true when your favorite writers are all dead or luddites.

While I do follow some idols I make it a point to follow people who seem as dedicated to writing as I am. By reading lit mags I'd like to be in, I find and follow writers whose work compels me. That has led to fantastic friendships. For instance, this week three of the writers I met through lit mags & Twitter critiqued a piece I'm submitting to Brevity. We all know how difficult it is to find good critics!

Cheers y saludos,
Nichole

Lara, you're famous! Great idea you had!

I like Monique's idea to teach us Tweetdeck...& lists too, while you're at it!

I learned how to attach a photo to a tweet today, so progress is being made!

Thanks Robert! This challenge has been great for me!

So many people, so little time! The thing I like best about following everyone is that I have access to a whole bunch of people who are interested in talking, and not just promoting! Thanks everyone, and I'll catch up sooner or later!!
