It's a girl!

Yesterday, I lit up Twitter and Facebook with the good news that Tammy and I are expecting a girl. Will came with us to the ultrasound, and he was so well-behaved. He held onto the ultrasound prints and repeated, "Sister! Sister," as we drove Tammy to her work afterward.

Will with sister (ultrasound print).

Since both sides of our families are a little girl-deficient, everyone has been super excited to finally be getting a girl.

During the ultrasound and check-up, we also saw that our girl-to-be is very active and heard her strong heartbeat. I can't wait to see her in June and then learn over time whether she'll be a girly girl or a tomboy--or some kind of mix of both.

I'm sure I'll have deeper analysis of having a daughter later on, but right now, I'm just happy that she's doing well.

Congratulations! Raising a girl and raising a boy are very different experiences and I am happy you are getting the opportunity to see that.

Keep us posted!

Congratulations to you and Tammy!! That is very exciting especially since you were slightly X chromosome deficient ;-)

Congratulations! Raising a girl is great for dads! I know it was for my Dad and I know our girl does the same for her dad. And, believe me, dads are so utterly happy with "daddy's little girl" ... always and forever!
I am so happy for you!

Mazel Tov! I come from a family with all sisters and all nieces. Lots of fun.
I hope it is a smooth pregnancy.

Thanks, everyone!

Janette, it's been smooth so far. (fingers crossed it stays that way)

Mary, I already feel that whole "daddy's little girl" syndrome taking me over. It's going to be a challenge to not spoil her when she gets here.

I have four boys also! I am insanely jealous but not crazy enough to try again. Get a sitter and enjoy a shopping trip with your wife to the pinkest store you can find. :.)

Ha! "The pinkest store we can find." Tammy recently admitted that she wasn't too "girly" in high school--donning black heavy metal T-shirts. Soooo...it'll be a miracle if this girl turns out girly.

Oh, Robert, never underestimate the power of genetic infinity! ;D There's still just as much chance she'll be girly. And as long as she can still play sports, and roughhouse with her brothers and daddy, that's ok!

Congratulations on the impending addition to your family. We have another grandson due in July, so I am in tune with your anticipation. Enjoy! Children are such blessings!
